Wow, I fail epically at posting. One of my favorite teachers is leaving for a new school next week (which is the new school year). Remember, teachers can only stay a maximum of 5 years before having to move. This one somehow worked here for 8. There was a faculty farewell dinner for the teachers who are leaving. I ended up at a table with no one who spoke English, so I felt awkward. Mainly because I was sitting in front of this pair of older teachers who usually laugh at whatever I do.
Weird moment of the night: I had rice, and I was taking a break from eating it, and one of the teachers motioned for it. I assumed she wanted to share. This, as I OBVIOUSLY should've known better wasn't the case. She ate the entire thing in less than a minute. I mean... :(
Today is a strange day in the office. People (I mean me) are being moved around the teacher's office, just a desk over. I'm getting sat next to my co-teacher so this will be interesting. I liked sitting next to my secondary co-teacher. I've also been on and off the phone with Chungnam University, trying to figure out how to sign up for Korean classes. Supposedly, all I do is transfer the tuition fee... but I'm skeptical. My co-teacher is saying that "there are many changes for March. Stay here."
I can now eat kimbap (김밥) with the seaweed on it! Particularly if its 소고기김밥 (beef kimbap). Yum!
Things that keep me sane these days: RE5 and Anthony Bourdain.
Picture is from Lotte World. The night we got stranded in Seoul because we missed the last KTX back to Daejeon... and then we had to look for a hotel with vacancy. Fairly difficult!
